These are the same HP engineers that service their largest customers. Traditionally, most organisations have leased their laser copiers and put them on a service contract that is usually been based on a cost per page model. Over the last twenty five years or so the traditional photocopiers have evolved into network printers with scan and fax capabilities, otherwise known as MFP’s or MFD’ (multi-function printers or devices), depending on who you are talking to. Since the turn of the century a lot of organisations have implement a Managed Print Service model that is based on removing Inkjet and Laser printers from the point of need and move the volumes onto the larger more economical devices, driving down costs, especially where these devices had expensive service call outs, ink, toner, fuser units and parts. |
